Rohens Quilt is reversible, with the large pieced stars on the one side and the patchwork improv on the back. And he totally loved it, a big genuine smile and a real tight hug. I love that guy :)
The quilting was one of my favorite parts! this is one of my first quilts that I have quilted designs all over instead of stitching in the ditch!

looking back it seems really amazing to see all of the pieces come together from smaller scraps.
I am totally inspired to keep going! In fact, I have two more scrap quilts on the go. I am excited to show you next time.

Hi Sarah!!! I was just thinking about you and wondering what you were up to and now I know. I've been doing scrappy also. I love your quilt and am quilt impressed with your machine quilting. You are right, this quilt is reversible and I love how the quilting looks on the scrappy side. Rohen is very lucky and his quilt reminds me of the one I made when my boys were little and I was using scraps from their old jeans and summer shorts. My youngest son saw what I was doing and ran downstairs to tell his older brother that he better pick up his clothes off the bedroom floor because Mom was cutting up their clothes. Still makes me laugh. Have a scrappy good time and don't be a stranger.
ReplyDeleteHi Rose! Kids are so awesome! that is a really cute story. I can see it in my mind of two little boys and their messy floors. So cute! I think if I told my youngest that I will make quilts out of the clothes left on the floor he would just start bringing me stuff and ask me to cut it up. I have to turn him away weekly with requests of cutting long selves into tee shirts and pants into shorts. He get's really disappointed if i cant fix something as well. That kid is going to sew his own clothes as soon as I will let him.

DeleteWhat a lovely quilt! I too, have been watching a bit of Angela and love her hints. I am thinking hard about a way to organize quilting designs so I remember them!
ReplyDeleteOh man, I love watching her shows. Its like candy! and so refreshing from all of the seriousness that we get caught up in trying to be the best, or different, i guess in short, she, makes me feel good about quilting! I use manila envelopes with the name of the pattern I made on the front... I just use pinterest to organize(ish) everything else. each quilt is different so why shouldn't the quilting be new too! lol.
